Decided to have some earrings made for Joan for her birthday. Amber ones to match a pendant that I gave her some years ago.
There is also a bracelet with the same design, so thought she should have the earrings which she said she would like. So went to a shop I had been to with a friend, where they make jewellery. The only problem being when I arrived they don't open on a Sunday. Being in Warrandyte, which is a popular tourist destination, I thought everything would be open, but this particular shop was a bit out of the town, which I had forgotten.
So will have to go back tomorrow or Tuesday. Am running out of time, need it by the end of the month.
But as it was such a beautiful day, I went back into Warrandyte, and went for a walk along the Yarra River, which I took photos of last year, at Warburton, higher up in the hills. The Yarra River finishs up in Port Phillip Bay fter going through the centre of Melbourne on its way. (Just a little geography lesson for you =D )
A bit too much light, sorry.
A duck having a bath near the bank of the river.
A busy little bee amongst the weeds :)
As you can see the river is flowing very quickly. We have had lots of rain recently.
A wattle tree across the river. I really do love the wattle trees. So bright with their yellow flowers.
So beautiful gum trees.
A tree in blossom (but not quite in focus =D )
Lots of weeks along the bank. The white ones whilst look like snow drops are onion weed. Do you have it in Finland too. Grows everywhere and smells like onions. :)
This little purple flower growing there too, not sure if it is a weed or not. Pretty whatever it is.
A bend in the river, bit quieter here.
I tried to download a video but was taking way too long. Will try again tomorrow from the PC
When I got home after first calling in to check on Joan's chooks (Hens) I decided to have poached eggs on toast for lunch. Haven't had them for ages. Very tasty.
The lock on my side gate has been broken for at least a year, and a couple of weeks ago, I bought a new lock. Hate the packages you have to use a very sharp knife to open. When I finally opened it, it was only part of what I wanted. So had to go back to the hardware store and change it over. Twice the price too. Then when I went to fit it, I couldn't get the old screws out. Grrrrrrrrrrr. Hopefully Shaun will be here tomorrow and he can do undo them for me. So all in all not a very successful day.
Did wash the car though :)
Hope your week goes well.

Nice idea to arrange new earrings to match the earlier given pendant. Sorry the shop wasn't open.
Warrandyte looks really beautiful and the river is a real river (not like our tiny one), though the water seems to be running so fast there's no urge to go swimming in there...
I ate my breakfast just a few minutes ago (have our daughter with her boyfriend at home and ate with them), but still I now want to make some eggs on toast - for some reason. =P Looks so delicious!
Hope you'll get your lock on the gate working soon. And well done with the car. We haven't been washing our car for how many years now. Maybe in three... *shame on us*
Funny how you feel there's not been happening much, when I feel you had a full day. =) And now it's a new week. Lets enjoy!
Really just felt I had not achieved what I wanted to achieve. But today is a new day. :)
