Went out for lunch and did try hard to get photos for you, but the camera would not work, no matter what I tried.
Seemed the batteries were too flat to take a photo. Didn't show up as low battery though. Really must look at buying a new one.
Did manage to take these photos after recharging the batteries.
Have had my ex-husband here for a few days. Went easier that I thought. Still glad I divorced him though :)
He didn't require a blood transfusion this week, but he slept nearly all day after getting back from the hospital.
Sorry to say your present has not turned up. I am so disappointed for you.
Did I tell you I didn't get a present from either of my children. I showed my elder son all the gifts I got, but still no reaction. Thought he might have said, sorry we didn't get you anything, but no, nothing. I have to admit that I am a bit hurt. Feel like I don't matter to them. Have been very depressed, but am getting over it.
The girls that I went to lunch with yesterday (Friday) gave me these garnets, which is my birthstone.
The photo doesn't quite do them justice. Though you can see the colour a bit.
Have started the new jigsaw. Took ages to try and find all the edge pieces, but have succeeded. So now on with the show. Will take ages I am thinking :)
Hugs and kisses

Happy birthday to Jayden
Can't believe that he is 12 already. Seems like yesterday. He was so small. Only just 4 kilos. He was four weeks early.
Anyway, took him to stay, permanently as his dad's yesterday. He was in two minds. Looking forward to the new place, and upset about missing out on having a computer.
Hadn't bought him a present as he has been with me constantly, so after I left him at Ro's last night, I went shopping. After I had called into Joan and Nils' and they had asked me to stay for a roast tea, which was yummy, so all is now forgiven :D
They are going away (again) in their caravan, and I will have to go feed the hens and collect the eggs.
We have some shops which are opened 24 hours, so was able to go to Kmart and find something for Jayden. He loves his Lego, which I think must be extremely popular all over the world. Found a Lego game and a police helicopter, so he was delighted. Forgot the photos. (Hopeless aren't I)
Then we took him ten pin bowling with four of his friends.
This so Son, and this is his first time at bowling. He did quite well, and improved very much the second game. They all seemed to have fun
Sarah was the only girl, but that didn't seem to worry her. She also is the only one going onto High School. The boys are all going into Grade 6
The birthday boy. Didn't like having his photo taken. Put him off so he said.
.Sarah in action.
After the games there was hot dogs and chips, but nobody like the food. Such a waste.
The icecream cake was enjoyed by most. Just one boy didn't like the icecream. Always one. :D
Blowing out the candles. Didn't get cutting the cake. Here if the knife touches the plate you have to kiss the nearest girl (if you are a boy) and of course, the opposite if you are a girl. Jay enjoyed it. He hasn't had a birthday party since he was about 7. So it was rather special. They were all nice kids too.
Hugs and kisses, and waiting (patiently :) hehe) for my present.

Presents - lovely.
My sister and my two nieces, and their daughters came over on Saturday to give me a present for my birthday. We don't usually give presents, but as it was my 70th they decided I needed spoiling.
From Tiffany's no less. Amazing. First the big bag, then the little bag, then the box, then the pouch
and then ................the earrings. Not sure the photo does them justice.
This is maybe a bit better. Very lucky girl.
Except I wore them on Tuesday and one of the back came off. Luckily didn't lose the earring, just the back.
Joan gave me this, which is rose gold. I have to admit I chose it myself.
and this jigsaw which doesn't come out very well, but is 3000 pieces, will take forever I think.
Margaret who was teaching here bought me these flowers.
Pauline bought me these.
Unfortunately, we couldn't get a good shot of these sand sculptures from the hotel and didn't have time to go in and see them. Also the rain had damaged some and there were repairs going on.
My ex-daughter-in-law was 40 the day before my birthday and she invited me to her party. I know she loves my cheese cake so took one around for her.
Keep well, hope you didn't come down with any nasties. Hugs and kisses.

What a week.
Seemed I was destined not to celebrate this birthday. Firstly the jetski was cancelled because it was too rough. Then we decided to go to Frankston, a seaside suburb, to have lunch. Which was very nice, with two of my best friends. Margaret, with whom I grew up, and Joan, and their husband.
Firstly Nils, Joan's husband, got lost, even though they have a GPS. He didn't use it. So we were over half an hour late arriving. The food was lovely, but forgot the photos (as usual). I had a filet mignon. Very Tasty.
The wind did that for me :)
A couple of shots of the playground
Nils decided, without consultation with the birthday girl, that he would take Jayden metal detecting. I was a bit upset because I had people coming over in the afternoon to visit.
The waves weren't as high as anticipated, but still think for a novice it would have been a bit rough, and cold. :)
Had to apologise to my elder son and my friend, that I couldn't see them, because we were even later getting back because we kept taking the long way. Through all the peak hour traffic. I was becoming very irritable.
Then to top it all off, I was ill. Vomiting and diarrhea. Spent most of Wednesday in bed. Had visitors in the afternoon for a few hours, then went to bed again as soon as they left.
They bought me this beautiful flowers.
This lovely and different door stopper.
And a belated Christmas present. A bit hard to see in the photo, but it is annealed glass (I think) brooch. A very nice turquoise.
Was supposed to go on a picnic today, but still didn't feel up to it. It is now 4.30pm and am starting to get some energy back. This was for my birthday too. Ah well, maybe do it all eventually.

He's back.
Picked Jay up finally, last night. The plane was over an hour late. He did let us know they were going to be delayed 45 minutes, but it turned out longer. He looked so tired, but I let the camera in the car. Silly me.
He is staying with me for a few days till we finish the bunks. Going to Ro's tonight for tea, and will try and remember to take some photos. Not a nice day for it though as it hasn't stopped raining. You may have heard that some parts of Queensland are flooded and badly, so far there have been 13 deaths confirmed and lots more missing. Fortunately, for us, nowhere near where Jay's mum is.
In answer to your question, no I don't glue the jigsaws together, I have done so many I could build a house :D. That is a thought :)

Rain has stopped
Heavy rain most of the day. But finally the sun came through late afternoon. Managed to get some washing done, but had to use the dryer. Never Mind.
If I stay really still, nobody will know I am here :)
Remembered the camera. This is Jayden's new room at his Dad's. Have to finish the bunks yet, still no base to put the mattress on.
This is taken from the entrance.
This is looking back the towards the door.
One shot of the balcony. Rohan like cacti and has lots of them as you can see.
This is looking out from the balcony to the corner. As you can see it is raining :) This was Friday.
Bathroom, toilet and laundry combined.
Looking left from the main bedroom door.
Then looking to the right. Not sure what they meant this narrow area would be used for.
One view of the living area above and the other below. Jay's fish tank on the table next to him, but you can't see it very well.
And finally the outside. Not sure how to mark the photo but you might just be able to see the cacti on the ledge of the balcony near the power pole in the side street. He is on the 1st floor.
Must go to bed now, Jay is at Kirsty's tonight, at Ethan's request. Hope you have a good weekend and that you get to Turku.

Only two more sleeps.
Jay will be home on Wednesday, I have enjoyed the rest, but am missing him lots. Feeling a bit lost.
So much so that I was able to finally finish this jigsaw. Thought the easiest way to take the photo was put it on the floor. Didn't realize my toes got in the shot :) I got to the last piece and it didn't fit. Ooops. Took a few minutes but finally found the piece that was in the wrong spot. Not far from where it belonged, but made all the difference.
Joan and I went to the cricket last week. This is a short version of the game, so nice and quick and free scoring. Also lots of drama, with music and as you can see below when they score 4 or a 6 runs, which means hit to the boundary for a 4 and a hit over the boundary for a 6, then they light up the gas burners. Very effective. Tried to get it on video but couldn't time it right.
Started a new jigsaw today. Also did some housework, and started to sort out some old clothes to recycle. Some are too big and some are just too dated. Hard for me to throw things out though. ;)
Keep forgetting to take some photos of Ro's new flat, will try and remember next time. Going out for lunch tomorrow which will be nice.
Keep well. Lots of hugs and kisses.

Another week gone.
Don't seem to have done much, but the week has flown. It is getting warm again. Which worked out well as I had my new refrigerator delivered yesterday and was able to defrost the old one easier.
This one is much bigger than my old one. What is more I didn't have to pay for it. Our government has a scheme where if you are on a pension and don't have any savings, you can get two new whitegoods in ten years.
Not that you can judge the size from the photos. Should have taken them from the same distance. Silly me.
As you can see this needed replacing, with all the rust in the body. It also iced up at the back.
The original, the bottom one, has the freezer on the bottom, the new one the freezer on the top. Could be a bit neater, but have a lot of Rohan's food in here. He is going to use my old one until he can find/afford a new one.
Apart from that, today I have been cleaning up Jay's rooms, he is soooooo untidy. Will look good for a day or two :D after he gets back.

Happy 2011
Was 40 degrees yesterday to end the old year. Neil came around to help fix a shadesail to protect my new tree fern.

Because of the heat, I bought Mitch inside. I think Cinders is saying "What is this pest inside again for?"

Whilst Demi is saying, I am staying in here where I am safe. Let me know when it is all clear.
Because it was so hot, I didn't do much. Did some more on my jigsaw though.
Getting there, slowly. The oceans are fairly hard as there is not a lot of colour variance, have to look for the longitude and latitude lines.
Had a headache most of the day, and tried watching TV, tried going to bed, but that made it worse, so did finish up being up at midnight. Watched the fireworks on TV and saw a few let off near here. Not much noise this year though. Most years there are horns tooting and people calling out, but very quiet this year.
Also bought out my one and only oil lamp. To light the way for the New Year.
Hope it is a good one for all of you, two legged and four legged.
Hugs and kisses.
