A trip to the city.

This is my local train station at Croydon.















St Pauls Cathederal is opposite the main station at Flinders Street, this is an Anglican Church

Then on the opposite corner is our Federation Square which I think is an abomination, but is supposed to be a great new piece of architecture. Didn't come out very clearly though, so my apologies.








When I arrived in the city about 40 minutes later, I met my friends Janet and Margaret with whom I went to school, and we caught a tram to the new Harbour Town.











Just before Christmas last year they opened a new Sky Wheel. Just a few months later during the heatwave in February, they found that the wheel had buckled. Therefore it has to be dismantled and rebuilt at some astronomical expense. You can see where work has started.

Another view of the wheel. My mother-in-law went up in January and the views are suppose to have been spectacular. Over the city and the bay.




















The shopping precinct here is almost deserted, mainly because of the failure of the Wheel, which would have been the drawcard to attract shoppers and tourists.

King Island Wallaby

This was taken when we went to King Island a couple of years ago. King Island is off the north coast of Tasmania and about 22 kilometres long. There is very little industry, except one of the worlds biggest exporters of kelp, which has lots of uses, especially in medicines. They also have a great beef and dairy industry due to the lovely pollution free atmosphere. Nobody locks doors done there still, and their mild is pasteurised and not homogonised like on the main land.

Dog Lovers

Hi Minz, sorry I dont know how to rotate this on here but you hopefully can read the sign. Thought you might appreciate it. We took this on the main road in the Cook Island, on the main island of Raratonga.

Cinders

Thought you might like to see how Cinders hogs the fire. The main heater is in the kitchen but has an outlet into the lounge (living) room which she usually makes her own.
She must be comfortable, but I cant see how.

It has been a busy week, I dont know where the time goes. My sister, Gwynne and I went to visit our cousin and his wife at Pipers Creek which is near Kyneton. Took us about 2 hours to get there. Meant to take the camera, but as usual forgot.

We went most of the way by the Freeway, and they were only about 10mins from the freeway. They have 30 acres and the house is about 10 years old. Quite a nice house. They have 2 horses and a lovely young labrador named Dante.

When we went for a walk over the property we say one kangaroo and one wallaby. They also have echidnas but we didnt see any.

Friday night was football again. My team the Western Bulldogs, won over an arch rival. It was so good. Had a smile on my face all the way home. It is nearly finals time, and we are fourth and they are second, so good to win

Saturday morning I looked after Ethan, the others, (Rohan, Kirsty and Jayden) came for lunch. Jayden stayed on for the night and the others left mid arvo. Jayden and I went into the Scienceworks museum as they had a Star Wars Exhihition. He loved it and all the other exhibits.

Took him home and Ethan came back for the night, and we played with the Play Doh and on the computer till just after lunch when I took him home. Consquently, no housework done and the weather is pretty lousy, with lots of rain and cold strong winds.

This camellia is lovely because it has been sheltered by the house from the rain, the while one has been spoilt by the rain.

This azalea is called pink ruffles and had to look right underneath to again find one that wasnt water damaged. I also have a red ruffles but couldnt find a decent one

My garden today

Took this today, it is a lovely day and the magnolia is in fully bloom

Then lastly comes the lounge room which is on the south west corner of the house so gets the afternoon sun. The front door opens straight into this room. There is an open fire which at the moment is getting lots of use.

My office which is on the east side of the house and because of the house next door and my beautiful bougainvillia it doesnt get very much sun, therefore is very cold, so move my lap top computer into the kitchen or the lounge room.

And then my massage room which is off the billiard room which I have posted on my facebook page

This time the spare bedroom which is mainly for the grandchildren and the passage way looking to the back of the house from my bedroom door, and the bathroom

This time we have my bedroom which was hard to take so again several angles. This room faces south so doesnt get any sun except a bit through the round window. This is a leadlight which a friend did for me during my dolphin period.

Inside the Kilsyth Mansion

Hi again Minz, I am going to try and organize this a bit better this time, I hope to show you some photos of my house inside this time.

I will start with the kitchen, which faces north and therefore gets the sun nicely in the winter. You cant tell from the photos cause I took them at night.
