Gardens

Though it has been too cold and wet for me in the garden.  I did do a walk around and found that the tree dahlias cuttings that my sister gave me have started to sprout.  Just hope they also take root.  Fingers crossed.

Thought I may as well take a few more photos of the few flowers that are out at the moment.

A violet.

A fushia and  the lobelia.  :)

Then this one that I should have taken a long shot of too as it has taken over the garden bed, can't remember what it is called as the label has been engulfed.

Whatever it is it is pretty.  Must go, as it is freezing in my office.  Catch you soon.

Good News

Went to the hospital yesterday.  Had to wait about an hour, and they told me it is a cavenoma, and that I was probably born with it.  They will check it again in 6 months and if nothing has changed then, we just forget it is there.

From there, after some retail therapy, a black jumper and a red jacket and a black scarf and some some lovely white bath towels, and hand towels. Sorry not good photos.

Then I went buy a stuffed dog for Joan to have in hospital, then took it too her.  She is still a bit sore and her throat is a bit raw.  She can only have clear soup and jelly for two weeks. They anticipate she will lose between 7-9 kilos in weight.

Then home and had a quick bite to eat, and then got ready to go to my nephew's engagement party in Geelong which is the other side of the city and over 60kms from here.  Took me over 2 hours as the time I went through the city was peak hour traffic and very slow.  Once on the freeway it was great.  :)

 This is Ben and Kristy.
And this has to be one of the biggest chocolat MudCakes I have seen.  Sorry the flash obviously didn't work properly.

This is one of the decorations around the place.

This is my mother-in-law.  Looks good for 87 doesn't she.

My son Shaun and wife Mandy.  (Just noticed this is outside the toilet  :D

May do more later, Jayden is just "Desperate" to get on the computer   :D

Hope you are well and having a good weekend.  Hugs and kisses.

Tuesday again

We don't have many trees around that change colour, but caught this one when I came home.  Just managed to catch it with the sun on it, which was rare today  :)

I have been for my respiratory test today, and came home with a nose running like a tap. But unlike a tap, I can't turn it off.  :D

Am just going to finish this blog and go to bed.  Waiting for the electric blanket to warm up the bed for me.  Might even take a hot water bottle to bed too.  :)

Took awhile for the photos to load............always the way when you are in a hurry.

Must be cold as found Demi curled up in one of her igloos.  :D

Went out to buy a few things after the hospital visit.  Had no intention of buying a new firescreen today, but say what I was looking for so had to buy it.  :)  It is still fairly lightweight, but higher than the old one.  Also bought some wire to wrap around the electrical cord to the pond pump so I can let Mitch run free again.

Mind you will probably take me ages to get around to wrapping around the cord.

Have a great day, will let you know what happens on Friday. Could be Saturday here before I find time though.  I am really please they didn't decide on the biopsy,  makes me feel more positive.

Keep well

More news

Was supposed to hear on Friday what was happening, but the hospital didn't ring.  So I rang today, and they are not doing a biopsy.  I have to go to the outpatients clinic this Friday and speak to the surgeon.  I am guessing they will come up with something then.  I am anticipating that they will just monitor the situation and see if anything happens.  So good news for now  :)

Someone knows how to make herself comfortable.  Clean clothes are best to snuggle into.  :D

Finally worked out this pattern, so have finished the right front and a good bit of the left now.  Don't know why I had so much trouble with the left side.  Quite simple when you look at it.  Never mind, maybe my head with in a different space with all that has been going on.  I didn't think I was worried, but maybe...................

Busy week, as tomorrow I am taking Cinders to seen my ex-neighbour who is in a dementia ward at one of the local nursing homes.  He loves cats, so hopefully it will cheer him up as he feels like he is in a prison.  So sad.  Remembers his wife, but couldn't remember his daughter or  granddaughter in a picture.

Then still have to do a respiratory function test tomorrow, they weren't happy with my shortness of breath.  Work on Wednesday,  my friend Joan has her op on Thursday, and then the out-patients Friday morning and then to Geelong for my nephew's engagement party on Friday night, which is in Geelong, about 2 hours drive.

Still deciding if I will stay over at my mother-in-law's.  Will talk to her tomorrow.  Just don't like leaving the pets locked inside overnight.  Well, not when I am not there anyway.  ")

Hope all is well with you and that the weather picks up and you can go for your walks. (hope I can keep up when I come over, you will have to remember I am an "old" lady.              :D

Tests

Minz, I have delayed doing a blog until today. I have had some tests and it didn't sound good and I didn't want to say anything until I had the tests today.

As you might remember I have been having constant headaches, and they have been increasing, so I have been to the doctor and he sent me for a CT scan, which showed a small discrepancy in the putamen of the brain. Today I went for an MRI, and they were still unable to determine what this anomaly is.

This is the foyer of the Austin Hospital, which is about 40 minutes from our place and an awful place to try and park. We drove up and down for ages. Finally an attendant relented and let us into a carpark supposedly kept for the doctors. :D  I haven't been to this particular hospital before.  But it is huge.

Anyway, after I had the MRI they continued on to do a pre-admission screen.  So have had blood tests, ECG and Chest Xrays today.  It was really good, we didn't have to wait for any of the procedures.  Every time we went somewhere, and they were all on different floors, we were seen straight away.

The neurosurgeon was in operating theatre, so the Registrar informed me they will consult on Friday and then decide if it is necessary to do a biopsy.  If so, it will be next Wednesday, and I will be in hospital for 2-3 days.  Don't worry, I feel fine.  If they don't biopsy,  then they will probably just monitor it every few months to see if it becomes any larger.

I hope they don't have to operate because  my friend Joan has to go in next Thursday for a stomach operation and she will be incapacitated for quite a while and I want to be able to look after her.   Seems to be all doom and gloom here.

Apart from all that, this is the gang sending out our monthly  newsletter.  Sorry have been a bit distracted and not taken any photos.  But Liam is staying over for the first time on Friday night, so should have plenty of photos then.

Hope you don't go worrying about me, but had to let you know what is going on.

Hugs and kisses.

So happy to read all your lovely news.  Really cheers me up.

Thursday.....................

Have just been out to get some signatures so I can re-nominate for one of the committees that I am on.  It is cold and wet and miserable.  Coldest May day yesterday, for 10 years.  Snow on some of the hills.

I'm staying out here while that rabbit is inside.

Maybe I will come in and sit in the warm.

If we stay up here we will be safe from that pesky rabbit. (not often I can get the three of them in the one photo.

Mmmmmmmmmmmm.........maybe I can sit on a chair too.

This is comfy  :)

Chairs are fun, especially when I can chew them.  =D

Hello..........want to come and play.  Pleeeeeeeeease

Did you have to let that pesky rabbit loose   ?????
Bit hard here to see the head and tail  :)

Hope you have a great day.

Hugs and kisses   <3

Goings on.......

Been very busy, doing a lot of nothing, it seems some times.  Been trying to knit a cardigan/jacket for my mother-in-law.  Supposed to be for Mother's Day but will be a bit late, have only just finished the back.

Then today, I have made a cheese cake to take with me tomorrow night to the meeting.  Jenny provides a beautiful roast dinner, and I promised to make the cheese cake this month.
Used chocolate biscuits for the base and grated chocolate on the top.  Hope it is ok.  The cheesecake itself is lemon.

Last night we went out for tea for Shaun's 40th birthday.  I am so mad at myself for not taking photos, because the food was really wonderful.  I just managed this one.
This was mine half way through, and one of the best cabonara's I have had. I had the left-overs tonight for tea, and it was still yummy.  :)

Not a very good photo of young Sam, and Max is pulling a bit of a face, but I think the best of the lot.

I came home on Saturday after watching the football on Tv.  )Sometime when our games are played in other cities, it is only broadcast on pay-Tv which I refuse to pay for.  :D ) I found that Erin had been for a visit and left this wonderful cage for Mitch, for outside.

He seems quite happy in it, but Erin tell me as it is metal, it can get hot in the summer so might have to either get some shade, or move it in the hot weather.  It is on wheels, so shouldn't be a problem.

Demi on the sofa, as I was sitting in her chair.  ")

And Cinders was hiding under the kitchen table, so Demi couldn't find her :D

Hope you have a great week.

I remembered......................just

Went out again for tea last night.  Although it was a late start and I was very hungry I did remember to take some photos.
 The table settings
A small area to wait , not a very good photo,  sorry.

First we had potato and bacon soup. A little bland, but nothing a bit of salt and pepper couldn't fix.  :D
Then there was either chicken, spinach and mustard seed pie or.........
Veal scallopini, with mushroom sauce, which I can removed.......not very fond of mushrooms.  The veal was not cut up into small pieces which is how it is usually served, but quite nice.

Just the two course, with some interview with some players in-between.

Then a raffle, and I won some storage containers.

Very handy as I was having trouble finding the right size container when I was cooking last week.  These will be just perfect.

My friend Joan has been in hospital for three days. So I went to visit her on Monday night, and again tonight after she got home from the hospital.  She went in for a pre-admission medical and they admitted her as she had been vomiting blood.  She has a gastroscopy today, and will hear shortly when they will operate.  Then she has to be careful for quite a few months.

My other son's birthday on Saturday, he will be 40, and has invited me to join them for tea.  (More food pictures, if I remember)  I can't got his present until July, but he is prepared to wait.

Weekend is over

Don't know how, but the weekend is over.  ;D    Today is Rohan's birthday and I went down to see him for a few minutes this morning.  Neither of us were very well.  I had another headache and so did Rohan, but his came from hitting his head on the floor when he fainted yesterday.  He doesn't know why, except maybe his sugar levels were low,  (don't know why he thought that though), but he had been eating so not sure.

He didn't want a cake, but took a cream donut and put a candle on that, but forgot the camera.  (Sorry)

Also went out for tea on Thursday, had a lovely meal, and had the camera, was so hungry forgot the photo, yet again.  Had a veal shank.  Very tender.

Company for me too while I am on the computer.  She comes here every time, when she is inside that is.

Just worked out that my new camera puts photos is a folder for the month, which can be good, but haven't worked out how to access the folders on the camera.  I use the memory card reader for here, so no problem, ah well, another problem to solve   ;)

Can't have you showing off your plants all the time, so took some photos of my garden.  The azalea's only have a few flowers at the moment, but the carpet rose has quite a few and this is just one.  My lime tree is loaded this year for the first time.  I think I have had the tree three years now.  The lemon tree has some fruit too, but didn't take a photo, but it is not as healthy as the lime.

Just had to show off the clean desk.  Not sure how long it will be this clear. As I want to get back into my genealogy before I go to England and Scotland next year :D.

I am knitting a cardigan for my mother-in-law,  (it is Mother's day here next Sunday) so trying to do as much knitting as I can. I have also changed the pattern on the one I was knitting for myself, but that is on hold for now.

Hope you are having a great weekend.  Lots of hugs and kisses.
