Went out again for tea last night. Although it was a late start and I was very hungry I did remember to take some photos.
The table settings
A small area to wait , not a very good photo, sorry.
First we had potato and bacon soup. A little bland, but nothing a bit of salt and pepper couldn't fix. :D
Then there was either chicken, spinach and mustard seed pie or.........
Veal scallopini, with mushroom sauce, which I can removed.......not very fond of mushrooms. The veal was not cut up into small pieces which is how it is usually served, but quite nice.
Just the two course, with some interview with some players in-between.
Then a raffle, and I won some storage containers.
Very handy as I was having trouble finding the right size container when I was cooking last week. These will be just perfect.
My friend Joan has been in hospital for three days. So I went to visit her on Monday night, and again tonight after she got home from the hospital. She went in for a pre-admission medical and they admitted her as she had been vomiting blood. She has a gastroscopy today, and will hear shortly when they will operate. Then she has to be careful for quite a few months.
My other son's birthday on Saturday, he will be 40, and has invited me to join them for tea. (More food pictures, if I remember) I can't got his present until July, but he is prepared to wait.

Oh, your dishes on the tea looks so delicious! Love the lantern on the table - seems like the one that suits everywhere; on the table, hanging on the hook, inside, outside...
Waiting area with the plants (are they real? We have similar plastic ones in lot of places here in Finland) looks nice, too.
We eat a lot of potatos here, but never heard of potato soup. Should try and find the recipe and cook some for us, as well. Feels like a fantastic idea.
Your winning of the storage containers seems great, too. I feel you never have enough of them. And if they are storaged empty inside of eachother all the better. My hubby seems to have gotten many of my best containers in use for the things in the garage. I don't like that at all. Then I started to save some packages from the food (butter etc) for him to use, but still he wants the more expencive ones... Should have a locked cabinet for these I suppose. ;)
Sorry to hear about Joan. Hope she will be better soon - and knows how to take it easy, for not getting more ill.
There's some birthdays then here and there. Our son is turning 19 on Mother's Day, too. He doesn't want to have his own party, but it will be celebrated at the same time as the Mother's Day - we are going out for lunch.
Have a great end of the week!
There are lots of recipes on the net for the potato soup. The bacon adds some flavour.
And they other dishes were lovely, everyone loved the chicken pie.
Yes the plants in the waiting area are real.
You are right, there is never enough containers, and when you have a container stealing husband, must be particularly hard ;D
Wish your son a happy birthday from me.
Love and kisses
