Shirley Temple look alike.

Found this while browsing. This is me at 8 years old, as a flower girl in my Aunt's wedding. The dress was pale blue lace, made by my mother and flowers nearly as big as myself. Had to have "rags" in my hair overnight to make these curls and they were sooooooooo uncomfortable.

the bothers of blogging.

Was trying and trying to add photos, but lots of problems.  Tried again after lunch.  No problems.
This is Kobain, she is my niece's cat and is 17 years old. A real sweetie.

Myself and Kobain.

She has a very short tail as it was caught in a door and the first vet botched the job, so the next vet had to aputate half her tail.

My earthhour table. Sorry about the video sound I had a mouth full of chocolate. :) Not sure why I couldnt upload from my memory card reader to the blog, but this has happened before and sometimes it is ok the next day.

While I was knitting away by candlelight, which was an experience in itself, I heard a bang, looked around and..........................

poor dolphin had lost its head.   That's what it thought of earthhour   :)

Anyway, have a lovely week and hope you enjoy. Hope you are well and that the weather is improving. Hugs and Kisses always.

Just a little bit late

As I said, had my days all mixed up.  Checked up on Friday as there hadn't been much mention of it on radio or the Tv that I saw.  So knew it was this weekend.  Silly me.  Getting senile.  :)

Today had lunch out with Ro and Jay and then watched the football.  We lost and badly.  Came home and Ro helped me put out the old lounge suite for the hard rubbish collection this week. The council will pick up lots of things that need to go the the rubbish dump or tip as we call it, once a year.

Then fixed the pump, yet again.  Forgot to put on a clamp and one of the hoses came loose.

Then settled down for my belated Earth hour.  Found it hard to knit the lace by candlelight  :)

Trying to download photos but having trouble.

So might publish and add later.

Fixed :)

Finally got around to getting all the parts I need.

Realized that the pump worked inside whilst it was upright, but had to put it on its side to attache the hose to the water feature.  Apparently, the pump didn't like that.  :)

The video is taking ages to upload, so please be patient.

Will take a little while to clean the pond, as it has been awhile and while I am trying hard to get rid of the duck weed, it is an on-going task as just one piece can multiply lots.  Also going to try and vacuum some of the dirt and rubbish off the bottom.  Need two people to do it though, as you need someone to keep adjusting the pressure in the hose.  The fish seem healthy enough and one has grown quite a lot.  If I clean the pond up, perhaps I might be able to photograph it   :)

As far as a visit is concerned,  I am going to check with my travel agent, but speaking to acquaintances who travel a lot (they live in England) they said it might be cheaper to fly to London and then book to Finland from there.  I would like to visit Cornwall too if I am going to travel all that way. May as well see everything  :D.

The only problem then is again the cost.

Progress

Haven't been in the garden,  Still fighting with the pump.  Trying to get the right attachment.  I wont beat me.  :0

Two of the coathangers are finished.
Now on with the rest.  The hardest part is putting the plastic tubing over the hook.  :)

Sorry just a short post.

Bad influence.

I am talking about your Minz.  All this gardening I am having to do, just to keep up with you.

these are what I bought.  Hopefully will get them in the ground later in the week.  (After I fix the pump.  It was working for a few minutes, but has quit again. Need to go back to the store and get one more fitting..Grrrrrr.)

Just checked the common names, this one is Spanish Shawl, or creeping Lasiandra
This is a variety of Thyme
And as the label states, this is a violet. These photos  came out better than what I expected.
Hope these freesias turn out better than the last lot I bought.  Should be lovely if they come up.
And I hope to fill in some holes in the garden with all these lobelia.  I just love the deep blue which darker than in the label.

Fighting the addiction :)

Started my knitting.  So watch a bit a TV while I knit.  Very easy and doesn't take much concentration.

Thought I would start to do some lace coat hangers.  The lace was on sale, so couldn't resist.
The colour doesn't show up well here and not quite in focus.

This is the first stage. Shall finish it of today.

Also tried to take a photo of the moon, as it was so close and clear, but really need a tripod.
Should also have taken a long distant shot, this was on full zoom.  Have a great week.  Hope you are feeling better  Hugs and kisses

Night out

Went to another football function last night. It was a great time. Held in the Palladium Room of the Crown Casino. Tried taking some photos of the casino but was too dark.
The above are the entrees for the night. As you can probably see the one on the left is salmon and the one on the right I think was turkey (as I don't eat seafood) both with poached pears.

Followed by Chicken Breast on barley risotto and grilled field mushroom, and asparagus and cherry tomato.
Then for dessert wild Strawberry and pistachio layered mousse, with almond biscuit, lemon ice cream and wild flowers.

All of which was delicious.
This was the only inside shot I took which was the ceiling in the Palladium Room.

Then a photo of myself, and Daniel Cross which is Jayden's favourite player.

On Tuesday night, I went out for coffee at a local hotel with Glenys and Pauline and they had to try out my new camera.
Today just doing the ironing :) My sister has had a melanoma removed from the calf of her leg today, and waiting to hear from her. Will go and see her tomorrow. She is going to stay with her younger daughter for two weeks, whilst she convalesces

Day's outing.

It wasn't supposed to be a very nice day.  A bit of rain in the morning but clearing.  But woke up and it was a lovely day.  Only meant to get to 22, but am sure it was a lot warmer.

We went to Flinders, have shown you photos of this place before when I went with my sister.  The tide was out and a bit cloudy.  This is the pier, which you can see for yourself.

Maureen will hate me for this.  Doesn't like having her photo taken at any time.  As you can see it was a bit windy.  :)

Found the colour contrast in the cliff face fascinating.  Bit hard with this new camera to get the right shot as there is no view finder, just the display, which in the sunshine can be hard to see.  Would have like to have zoomed in a bit more.

This gives you a good idea of how far out the tide goes. Also these three shots were taken more than an hour after the first shot and further around the coast line.

The road were were on skirts around the golf course.  Lovely view of the ocean for the golfers.

This particular spot is where they so some hang-gliding and I think they call is para gliding.  Where they jump of the cliff with a parachute and just ride the thermals.  Too windy today for anyone to be there.

Looking back down one of the fairways.

Passed this wooden carving outside a lovely house. Some very expensive houses in Flinders.  Mostly holiday houses or for very rich retirees  :)  When we were children going down there for our holidays, it was a little fishing village.

On the way home we stopped for afternoon tea at the marina in Hastings.  A few dollars worth of boats to be seen, and that is only part of it.

All in all a lovely day was had by both of us.

Hugs and kisses, hope you had a good weekend.

Let"s see

Bought a new camera today, let's see how good it is.  Has 12 megapixels instead of 5, so hopefully better Quality shots.  Otherwise I will have to admit it is the photographer  :)

Not sure what Cinders is thinking, but one paw on the back of the chair.  Maybe waiting to be told off for being on the table :)

Then there is Demi on the bed....................................still or again???????

Still in a spending mood.   Couldn't resist buying another watch.

This one has an elastic band.  Also bought that pump off ebay. Will go and pay at the bank on Tuesday as tomorrow is a holiday.

Maureen and I are going to the beach tomorrow, even though it is not supposed to be very warm.  So will try and post tomorrow night too.

Hope it is a good week for you.

New posting :)

Just for something to call it  :D

Seem to have changed things here, so will add the pictures one at a time.  Went out for dinner on Monday night, but forgot to take the camera.  It was a meeting just to fold our newsletter and put in the envelopes for posting.

Then out again on Wednesday night to a football club function.

Remembered to take a photos of the lovely pumpkin soup, but only after I had started it.  :)

This is the table setting.  Thought you might like the candle holder.

The inside and outside of the menu.  Not sure if you can read it.

Forgot to take a photo of the chicken I had for main meal.  I always seem to get the chicken and not that fond of it.  Monday night I had ham steaks.
I mentioned on your site I had done some shopping, found this watch which was $20 Australian.  It is one of those clip on bands which is good for my skinny arms.  I usually have to have lots of links taken out to make them fit.  I hate watches that slip.  There were so many to choice from could have bought a dozen.............I love watches.

Also bought new speakers for the computer as the old ones died last night :)  These are much better.

Had a look at a new camera too.  Just a small Canon which is fully automatic.  Small that the Kodak one I have, but is 12 Megapixels, and the Kodak is only 5.  So hopefully lots better pictures.  Lovely salesman too.  Not at all pushy.

Having had the useless salesman about the pond pump, decided to check out ebay, which is where I bought the last one, and there is several very similar to the one I have, so will most likely buy there.  Ends tomorrow or Sunday.  Will have to wait a few days for it, as I like to do direct debit into their account, and we have a public holiday on Monday, so can't get to the bank till Tuesday anyway.

Have made the decision not to play as many games. Have quit Frontierville and am gradually easing off Treasure Island.  Hate leaving challenges half finished :)    My excuse anyway.

Well, off to the laptop to watch that video again on crocheting and try my hand at it..............yet again.

Hope you have a lovely weekend.  Hugs and kisses.

More Gardening

Still trying to do a bit in the garden........partly to keep me off the computer  :)

This site really annoys me sometimes.  Can't get the cursor to go where I want tonight.  Anyway, a full shot and then the individual pants.  Sorry I meant to bring the labels in, can also see from the photos need to dig over the garden a bit more :)

This is a taller plant. with a purple flower and some darker leaves.  Should be quite pretty.

I don't really want to start a new blog on a different site, perhaps should come back tomorrow.  Also doing it on the laptop so maybe that is the problem.  Different keyboard

This is a hebe but can't remember the rest, but has a mauve flower.  Then filled the rest of the bed with begonias or varied colours, much like the last bed I did.  Do like begonias.  Will add some mulch tomorrow or Thursday, as we are expecting heavy rain overnight.

Went to the psychologist again today but was not very impressed.  She more or less gave me a lesson on grief and loss.  I couldn't relate to a lot of what she was saying.  According to her all grief is associated with fear.  But maybe I am misinterpreting her definition of fear.

Work tomorrow and will try hard not to play on the computer,  (except to blog)

Have a good day.

Mad Monday

Not really, but sounds good.

Felt better today even though I woke with a headache.  I did a few chores around the house.  Then I went to try and buy a new pump for the pond.  The one I bought was too small.  The big stores here are not very shopper friendly. Never any staff around to help you, and if you do find someone they don't know anything about what you want to buy.  Will try again tomorrow.  Did buy some new plants, but haven't taken any photos yet.  Camera still being tempermental.

Kirsty rang, and she came over with the boys after lunch.  She wanted a massage and sort of feel I have to earn points to see the boys.  Was good to see them though.

This is a little snippet of Liam.  He is growing so fast.  Didn't get a shot of Ethan as he headed straight for the computer.

Rohan didn't come over today so still don't have the photos off my phone. But took this of Liam.  He really doesn't have the hang of drinking out of a cup, but tries hard.  And is very pleased with himself.

Have a great week.  Hugs and kisses.  Fingers crossed for a big win in the lottery.
