Hot, hot, hot.

Sunday lunch time, getting hotter, expecting about 35deg.  Currently 32.  Jayden has gone out for the day with his godfather.  So have the day to myself.  Not sure what to do.  Finished one of my jigsaws, and found it has 5 missing pieces.  Made it bit hard  :0  It is a secondhand one.  Jay went swimming during the week with Kirsty and one of her friends and her children.  He had fun.

 Jayden had his birthday this week.  Forgot to take the photo before he blew out the candles, and cut the cake.  Do you have that tradition....you blow out the candles, make a wish then cut the cake.  If the knife touches the bottom you have to kiss the nearest person of the opposite sex.  Or you wish wont come true.

He he is cutting the cake.  It was a very low  key day.  He really wanted to go to "laser strike" http://www.laserstrike.com.au/ but will have to wait until his arm is fully healed.  So we went to see Journey2: Mystery Island with his dad too.  Not a bad movie.  Would have been better in 3D I think, but Jay wanted to go to the 2D.  We then had MacDonald's for tea.

Nearly organized for school.  Have all his stationery, just a few more items of uniform to go. 

Went to a funeral on Friday.  My longest standing friend lost her sister last week.  They just had a memorial service, the cremation had taken part earlier, as many of the family had to travel a far way.  Was good to catch up with her nieces and nephews, many of  whom I haven't seen for many years.

Just managed to find the manual for my weather station on line.  After searching previously, found it easy this time.  Grrrrr.  So now can tell the inside and outside temperatures, and both in Celsius.  It is currently, 29.1 inside and 29.9 outside.  According to this one.  Another outside one I have is telling me it is 36degrees outside.

Apologies

Sorry don't know where the time goes.  Haven't taken many photos though I have been lots of places.  But then misplaced my camera.  Left it outside, so stupid.  Luckily it didn't rain, but was in the hot sun for at least a day.

 Some new plants, not sure what they are as just sold as "pots of colour"

 Have another one of these and have forgotten the name, the other is yellow, but no flower as it is currently hidden behind the lemon tree  :)  Will have to transplant it after flowering season.

 Not sure what this is called either, but is very colourful.

This one is Cuphea Violet

 Then my pineapple plant, which I googled and is a pineapple lily, so now we know  :D  

Sorry the above one is not in focus.  This is a little better.

 Xanthosoma or elephant ear plant.  I hadn't realized that the flower is subtly fragrant.  I have lots of  these plants and some outside my treatment room and noticed the perfume when going in the door.

 And this one the outer "petal" had dropped off.  Unusual shape.........remind you of anything.  Or is it my dirty mind  :0

 

This little beauty is another one I can't remember the name of, but is very small.

Jay with his new dressing. Lots more comfortable.  And what is under the dressing.  Still some bruising, but yesterday the last steristrip came off and is not wearing the tubular bandage either.

Had Liam over the other night.  Saturday that is.  After our day where we provided, I don't know how many) bacon and egg, or sausage in bread for the spectators.  It was a great morning, except we were so busy we didn't get to see the players train.  Or after either.  Never mind.

A lovely birthday

 Took this the other day, catching the setting sun on the trees.  Zoomed in a bit much so lost a bit of focus, but doesn't look too bad.











 Then tried to get the sunset, but too many houses and trees in the way.  |:(










Started off today, with a nice card from Jayden.  Had to work, but never mind.  Can do with the money.  Then a few cards in the post and some phone calls, then off with Joan to have lunch at Cloudehill nursery.  Been there before about 2 years ago and took lots of pictures of the garden, but we didn't do the garden tour today.  

There is not a lot of choice on the menu, but what we had was lovely.  We had pork, slow cooked with crackling, and I had vegetables, Joan had stewed cabbage.  Too busy talking to take a photo.

These were at the entrance,  thought you might like them.  They are so realistic, especially the expression the one looking up.  Didn't check the price :D

 On the way home tried to take some photos of the trees, this one from inside the car, but the windows weren't very clean so lots of reflection.

  This one I took with the windows down.  Took others but they didn't work.   Not often I am a passenger.  These are the hills just behind us and the road is very picturesque.  Will all the tall eucalyptus trees and ferns, but didn't get any ferns.  Sorry.

Got home and Joan's daughter loaded the english maps on my navigator, ready for my trip.  Aren't I lucky.  Then a friend I haven't seen for ages, called in with her mum and bought me a lovely plant.  A dwarf crepe myrtle.

Also lots of phone calls too.  Then when Joan and family left, and Kathy and her mum left, my elder son and his family arrived.

They bought me a sandwich toaster. My other one broke years ago.  They stayed for an hour or so then I used my new sandwich maker to have a toasted sandwich for tea.  Didn't want too much after such a big lunch.








Jay came home after a really nice day for him too.  Tenpin bowling, MacDonald's for lunch, and playing with new friends.  And his brother.  So time to sit back at watch the Australian Open Tennis.

Just put both boys, (Jayden and Ethan) to bed, so a bit of peace and quiet.  Jay becomes so bossy.   I could strangle him......................just kidding.

Not much else happening at the moment.  Had a relaxation massage, facial and pedicure yesterday so felt nice and relaxed.  Jay spent the afternoon, with a new friend and his cousins and they had a great time.  Rory lives just a few door down the road, so am hoping they will see more of each other.

Worked this morning, and it has been a strange day.  Hail and sunshine.  Quite cold only 10-12 degrees, before lunch and this is supposed to be the middle of summer.  That is Melbourne for you  :)  It is now 2.30pm and it is still only 16, but the sun is out............at the moment.

More of nothing

Weekend has been and gone and not much has happened.  Rohan came over to stay on Saturday night so Joan and I could go to the cricket. 
The Stars (Green) played the Renegades (Red) these are some small boys near us.  Couldn't resist taking a photo of them with their coloured hair.  Though the red doesn't stand out as much and the boy in the middle you can just make out has one side red and one side green.

This is just fun cricket.

Sunday just did some cleaning. And of course, washing.

Today some weeding.  Rohan came over again, and spent more time on the computer.  He is becoming addicted to games.  I washed Mitch again today.  This time in the shower.  He didn't mind at all.

Wish he would wash himself though.  He really smells.  In the shower, all wet :0

Now this bit.   He didn't seem to mind a bit, and I think I have the hang of how to wash him without distressing him too much.  Tried putting him on his back to do underneath but he didn't like it.  So just attacked his behind from behind.   Don't know why he doesn't clean his "private" bits.  Erin said her rabbit was the same.

Anyway he is all clean for a little while.  Finished off the weeding so feeling good about myself.

Back from the Wilderness

Well, not quite the wilderness, but the thrown into to chaos(ness).

As noted in the previous blog, Jay had his arm broken by this nice boy at school.  We had to have it checked again the next week, and they weren't happy, so we had to go back on Tuesday.  The ulna bone, which you may know is the bigger bone in the forearm, had moved since it was first set.  Thus they wanted us back on Wednesday (yesterday) and the doctors were going to try and realign it under an anaesthetic. They told us that there was a very slight chance they would have to operate and put in a plate.  Well luck being as it has been for poor Jay, he had to have the plate put in.

So arrived at 7am, then had to wait until 11.30 to go to surgery.  Two hours in total in surgery and recovery, then back to the ward.  Whilst he only has a backslab (small plaster support held on with bandages) he has lots of swelling and is complaining of a burning sensation.  Not sure how much is real and how much is for a bit of attention.  I stayed with him overnight, and didn't get much if any sleep. Just a pullout couch, which creaked and groaned every time I moved.  Also it was cold in the hospital.  The good news about having the plate means that he only has to have these dressings on for two weeks.  Then he has to be careful not to lift heavy weights.

As Jay was supposed to go to Queensland and see his Mum today, both he and she are very disappointed, and we had to, or rather Rhianna had to arranged to change the tickets for him to go next school break which is in April.

Rohan came over last night to feed the animals.  Well, Mitch came inside, Demi went outside, and Cinders was no where to be seen.  I arrived home to be royally greeted and abused by one Demi.  She was totally aggrieved that she had been forced to stay outside the whole night and half way into the next day.  We got home about 1pm.

Got home and found the new modem had been delivered and left on the front door step.  Just as well no-one saw it.  So am now back on the airwaves, or is that back into CYBERSPACE.  :D

Just have to hope that you can put comments on.  I hope mine on yours worked tonight too.  :)

And been trying to take a good photo of Mitch.  We gave him a wash the other day and he seemed to enjoy it.  Next time will take a photo of him wet, he looks funny.   He is not very good at cleaning his "private" bits.  So he sometimes smells. 


Had lots of running around to do today to catch up after nearly three days at the hospital, so looking forward to catching up on all my computer stuff.
