Merry MOndaY

Went into the city to meet an old school friend. (she will be 70 tomorrow).  I went later than we normally meet, and was a bit casual getting ready so missed the bus by a minute or two.  So came home and drove to Rohan's and he took me to the train station near him.  (No parking available near the stations) and he took the car back to his place and then picked me up when I came home.

We went big department stores, which whilst it has been established since 1911, so celebrates its centenary this year, it has been vastly renovated internally.  Stupid forgot to take photos   (what is new),  anyway we had lunch in one of the many cafes there.  (No photos :D)   Then wanders around admiring all the expensive things.  I particularly wanted to see the swarovksi  (think that is how it is spelt) jewellery.    Beautiful, but so expensive.  Never mind, we can dream.

Anyway it was fun, also discussed my travel plans.  Janet goes overseas every year and has worked in England, all be it, many years ago.  So she gave me come clues about planning and modes of transport.

After she left I went to a hospital to visit my friends sister who has had a knee replacement.  Didn't go too well as she developed blood clots and has had to go back into hospital after being home for 2 days.  Should be home tomorrow.

The photo above is of the flower bed outside our Town Hall.

The only thing with this reader in the computer is you cant see the photos. Might have to read the instructions :)

From another angle.

Then went passed the Princess Theatre where they have all the live performances.  Andrew LLoyd Webber's "Love Never Dies" is playing at the moment.  Quite an old  (by our standards) theatre.

Then had to walk past our Parliament house.  Was the first Parliament House after Federation in 1901.  Now our capital is Canberra.

 The Main Door.

One of the lights outside, which I think are wonderful.

Then to catch the train home.  Near the underground or loop as it is know.

Going down the escalator, not sure if you can judge how steep it is.  My trains go from the second level down.   Of course as I snapped the photos, someone went rushing past.
 Looking down the empty tunnel.
Ah, here comes the train.

Normally the trip into the city takes about 45 minutes, but they have introduced limited express trains, which only stop as a few stations, so today the trips only took 30 minutes.  Which was great.

Busy week coming up so will tell more later in the week.  HAVE FUN.

Love the flower arrangements! So bright and beautiful. And the buildings are also nice - with all their details.

The station photos are also looking beautiful - interresting too. Our trainstations are always outdoors... Only the waiting halls and ticket departments are inside. Soooo different. But also a lot smaller.

Started working this week and it seems to take quite a lot of my time to arrange everything back into working order, but it seems to be the same every year. Little by little the routines are growing on me. =D

Enjoy your week!

We just have the four stations underground, and they circle the city.

Don't work too hard. :D
