Where is it.

Time flies when you are having fun.

Don't know about the fun bit, but time sure has flown past.

This is Demi.  She is half something, maybe Abyssinian.  Anyway, she is my sister's cat and she has come to visit (the cat that is) for 5 weeks.  Gwynne has gone to Hawaii with her younger daughter and family. They go nearly every year, lucky ducks.  They pay for Gwynne to go, her airfare, her accommodation, they usually get an apartment, and her food.  In return, she looks after Jordan, her granddaughter, who is 6, cooks the meals, and generally keeps the apartment tidy.  Not that Jordan takes much looking after these days, but she was only 1 when they first took Gwynne with them.

Demi only arrived today, and though she has stayed here before, it has been about 3 years, and as yet she is not too sure.  She will have to stay inside because she is not good with traffic and I would hate anything to happen to her as there is a lot of traffic here.

I don't think I published this photo before.  Tony said it was a kapok tree, but when I checked on the net it doesn't look anything like a kapok, so not sure what it was.  Pretty though.

This was at the Mexican restaurant.  It is a water feature and it was a bit difficult to photograph and it was fairly tall, well, taller than me, so had to stand on a chair and didn't get the full effect.  But it is stringrays, in case you can't quite make it out, and made of glass on top of a polished metal stand.  Very effective.

Had a very busy day, had a client this morning, Rohan came over early.  Gwynne dropped off Demi.  Neil came and fixed two gates that wouldn't close and mulch some pruning I had had done.  Then had to take Rohan to a job interview at Bangholme with is about 45 minutes from here.

Then had to pick up Jayden from Rohans, as we were late and Kirsty picked Jay up from school.  Then we went to look at a car for Ro as he can't get to this job without a car.  Not easily anyway.  Have to take at least 3 different buses and take over an hour, if he is lucky.

Then we had to take Jayden to his club for the farewell party.

After all that, I am exhausted.  Have a good day.

Oh, how cute Demi is! She looks a lot like my third cat, Missu. And there's a lot of Abyssinian in her - looks like tricolor fur anyways. She must be a bit lost at first when the surroundings are different, but 5 weeks is quite a long time, so she will relax more eventually, I think. I would also be more careful with a cat that's new to the place. My parents cats are also staying in (apart from the harnessed walks in the yard), though they are used going out normally. No troubles with this arrangement. It's quite quickly that pets adjust to the new rules.

Gwynne will surely also miss her on her trip, though the time in Hawaii sounds really good, too. ;D

The yellow flower in your photo looks really beautiful! Seems a lot like one of the bulb-flowers we have here, but not quite - and this has a bundle of flowers that the bulb doesn't have. Don't know what it's called, though.

The water feature looks great also! Like two large flippers of some kind of a blue bird. Fascinating! I was wondering from where the water comes? It clearly drops over from few places and must keep some nice voice, too.

You really seem to need a tight timetable to be able to do all the things you need to in the time they are supposed to be done. But good to hear that Rohan has got a job! It is really better to have a proper vechile to make it to the work and back home again. If the travelling comes too frustrating, it is more easy to give up. No wonder you were tired! Hopefully the farewell party went well for Jayden!

Demi and Cinders are still avoiding each other. Demi hisses and Cinders walks away, aloofly. :)

The yellwoflower is actually on a tree, but much to sparse a tree for a kapok.

I couldn't work out exactly where the water comes out either, possible between the two stingrays.

The party went ok. Rohan wasn't very comfortable. He doesn't mix well, especially with older people.

The boys all had a great time and that was important. They were given a certificate, and a letter affirming their strengths.

Thursday we took Neil and he helped start the van for Ro. We thought it might have just been a flat battery, but it needed a new one, which I bought him today. So he now has no excuse not to work.

He hasn't had it comfirmed that he has the job. He had to let them know if he had transport before they would seriously consider him.

Fingers crossed for luck.
