Oh dear, Monday.

Can't believe the week has gone so fast.  Yet not done a lot.

Had trouble sleeping again last night.  Up about 8. Had breakfastand got dressed to catch the 9.50 bus to Radical Bay.

This is a palm tree that was near the bus stop.

They were stopping there about an hour and said they would give us a lift back if we were ready.  We had bought lunch before we left, just a sandwich and a drink.  As you can see it was a really lovely day.  We had a swim and the water was beautiful.  Then had some lunch.

This is Radical bay.  Not many people there which was lovely.  The couple that gave us a lift just sat on the beach.  Another lady came up to us and offered a lift back, and she also apologised for not stopping for us.  I guess the thought was there.  As it turned out the couple that did give us a lift were ready to leave when we were so they gave us a lift back to Florence Bay which is the next bay around.  If you can be bothered checking the map.  Not far by car but would possibly take about 15 - 20 minutes to walk.

Just a shot of the waves.

A shot taken from the water.  The island is granite and there is no soil only sand.

You can see here now far out the tide is.

The headland. So picturesque.  Think I could live there except for the humidity in the summer I think would be unbearable.

When we found a spot to sit.  Out of the sun as it was getting quite hot by now. Someone had made this little sculpture.

This I am almost sure is Florence BAy.  Thought I would remember, but have to try and remember where we were sitting to work it out.

You can probably make out the sand on one of the photos.  Took a close up and these patterns are made by some sea creature burrowing into the sand.  Quite decorative.

Almost looks like Chinese writing.  Or at least art of some description.

We stayed a while at Florence Bay then walked back to Arthurs Bay.  Again about 15-20 minutes but a lot up hill. Also had trouble finding the track in.  But worth the effort.  This is a lovely bay, and we had another swim.

All of the bays have these rocky outcrops.

This side of the bay there is a reef and I went snorkelling. Wish I had had an underwater camera for you.  The fish are so colourful.  There was two brilliant blue fish.  Possibly about 5 cm. long.  Others that were colourful too, but the blue ones really caught the eye.

Not sure how long I was in, but the legs got sunburnt.  So did the rest of us.  I did have a tshirt on to swim in as we were still a bit burnt from last swim.  The arms got a bit while we were walking though.

Not sure if you can make out how the trees are growing out of the cracks in the rocks.  Amazing isn't it.

The walk back to the bus stop was quite steep and nobody stopped for us.  We, lucky, only had to wait about 5 minutes for the bus.  There were lots waiting, and none of the young ones offered us a seat to sit and wait.  No many manners these day.  At least here.

I will continue the rest of the day tomorrow as it is getting late.  Hope you have a great day.

What a beautiful beaches! How they can be so empty? Though it's good to have some peace and quiet at times, it feels quite funny actually to have something so beautiful and there's only a few people to enjoy it. Our few sandbeaches (sand pits) are always really crowded when there's over 20 degrees temperatures. Though the water might be much, much colder.

Really lovely photos! And when you are in a holiday it really seems like the time is flying, doesn't it?

That is one of the beauties of Maggie (Magnet Island) There are not lots of people. Mind you the traders are not happy about it. Our tourist industry is suffering at the moment. Not lots of overseas visitors.
