Was checking out my blog and found these photos do not appear to have been sent, as were still in the draft mode. This is taken from the cross over of the freeway on the way to the mother-in-law's. The top one looking west down the highway,
This is one of our airports, but it is only a small one. Does take international flight, and was used by the airforce.
This is the outside of the Werribee Free range zoo. But not a good shot, cause you can't see any of the animals from the freeway. Silly me.

I think I've seen the first one - or something quite like it anyway - before, but it is so different from what we have here, it's always somehow touching. Would really be great to visit Australia some day.
Do you have a large zoo nearby? In Finland we have three zoos and they all are quite small. One is for foreign animals, one for the Finnish wildlife (some that are only few in Finland or some that have been found woonded in forests) and one for the homepets (horses, cows, sheeps, dogs, cats, birds...). Nearest bigger zoo is in Sweden.
And our airport here in Turku is also a little one. It makes flights only to and from Helsinki and Arlanda/Sweden. But there's some plans to get it a big larger, if they find the right partner. We'll see.
There is a large zoo near the city. It opened in 1862,and has, I think, over 300 species of animals. There is also another a wildlife sanctuary about 40 minutes from us, which is mostly native animals.
Then, of course, is the open plains zoo, in Werribee, which is in the photos, and is 225 hectares in size.
