Old times

Went out for lunch yesterday to a local hotel bistro. At hotels here they serve "seniors meals", which are a smaller portion and cheaper. Often the roast of the day, which yesterday was roast pork, with lots of crackling. Mind you, I had soup, as I seem to have lost my appetite again, and we had lamb shanks for tea, which I was looking forward to and didn't want to spoil my appetite for them.

The two girls in the photo with me were two of the girls I worked with in my first job in 1957. A very long time ago, and we have stayed in touch. From left to right, is Murray and Ruth, myself in the middle, and Janice and George. It was really good to see them, as I usually only exchange cards at Christmas. But it was Jan's 70th birthday just before Christmas and her family gave her a surprise party and invited a lot of her friends, new and old. So Jan has decided we should get together now at least twice a year. Be interesting if it does happen.

I am doing some housework, which I hate, so am having a rest between rooms. I am trying to work out how to do a mail merge. I need to print some labels, but am having trouble opening the data source. This has been frustrating me for nearly a week. Grrrrrrr.

It's great that you have a tight group of old acquaintances keeping in touch. Actually I also have a little group of my first work where I was about a year before I moved ahead, that we are regularly visiting about once every two years. And we also send eachother e-mails and occationally have a ring to hear what's going on in everyones life. Some people just comes so important in our lives.

I just was wondering who's going to vacuum here. I'm not feeling up to it - just feeling lazy, and our daughter is doing some schoolwork at her schoolmate. Son is playing some game in his room... Well, there's still some daytime left. =o)
