Well, still didn't win the lottery, but had a win..................friends passed onto me some unwanted furniture.
The recliner, which when you sit in it and push back almost goes flat. Am sure I will fall asleep in it :)
Glenys and Rick gave me this, as they didn't have room for it! Said there was some wear on the arms, but I can't see it. They are two of the fussiest people I know. Still I am not complaining, because my other lounge suite was second hand and very uncomfortable. Also very heavy to move when vacuuming.
These two chairs came from Pauline and Bob, because they were wanting more room in their room. One chair has a cut on the arm, but not very noticeable. They are not quite the same colour as the recliner, but close enough.
On Sunday, I took Jayden to the National Sports Museum. It has lots of interactive sports, so Jay had lots and lots of fun, and I had fun watching him have fun. :)
Here he is trying his prowess on the bike.
Now archery. I must admit I had to try this myself. Didn't think to ask Jay to take a photo :(
This is to test your reflexes. You have to hit the buttons when they light up, and see how many you can get in a minute I think, or maybe two minutes. Not easy, you tend to miss the bottom ones.
I didn't take many photos of the exhibits as they were behind glass and didn't come out too well. Also predominately Australian Rules football and Cricket. Lots of our Olympic stars too. There was one exhibit of interest to me.
Unfortunately this was lit very well so had to use the flash, but this dress was what we school girls wore to do a dance on the Melbourne Cricket Ground, when Queen Elizabeth visited Australia for the first time after coming to the throne. It was such a big event for us then as we had never had a ruling monarch visit.
We were very honoured to be chosen to dance, and practiced at school several hours a week for nearly 12 months. I was lucky enough to be in the front row as we lined up on the ground and Her Majesty and Prince Philip drove around. Everyone was excited and we would line up for hours to see her drive past with all her jewels and beautiful dresses. How things change. How boring the design of the dress was too. :D
Got home to find that a fuse had blown whilst I was in the city. I didn't have any fuse wire, so had to get Nils to find some for me. He has EVERYTHING in his shed. Well it blew again, so Nils to come down and he bought one of the new switches we are supposed to have (my house being old hasn't been converted) but this kept blowing too. Even after switching everything off. I lost power to half the house. The other half was fine.
Called my friendly electrician and he have over, after tell me to use and extension lead, especially because the hot water service was affected. So was able to have a shower. :) The computer was off too, and had to unload the new freezer, fortunately, didn't have much in it.
Any was Glenn arrived flicked the switch and every worked fine. That was about 2pm and it just went again for no reason when I was in the middle of doing this post. Flicked the switch again, and so far so good.
The one with the blue switch is the offending fuse. As there has been lots of changes over the years, I probably should have a new switchboard put in, but that would be quite expensive. Also it is possible that the whole house needs rewiring. Again very expensive. Where is that lotter win when you need it. :0
Have a great week. Love and kisses, and hugs too. To you and your furry friends. And the family. :)

So, we didn't win in the lottery either. Better luck next time. =D
But the recliner and the chairs look nice! It's great to get some furniture from friends that doesn't need them any more. Our sofa and armchairs are also from a friend. We have bought only one sofa set, rattan one, and only the table is still in use. While we fixed the livingroom the first time we had to put the furniture to the garage and it was so damp weather they expanded and went out of shape. Couldn't use them after that. The colour of your new furniture looks nice, too!
I don't think we have any kind of Sports Museum here in Finland. Sounds and seems interresting. Place where the kids can actually interact with different sports. And the dress was also nice. What memories can be brought up with keeping stuff at shows (no wonder I can't throw anything away - =D ). Must have been really an occation to remember!
We also have a lot of old electricity wires here in our house and are getting them renewed little by little. Luckily we have a small house, so it's easier to do. Hope your problems are now over with your fuse.
Still waiting for things to get fixed. Glenn came and of course all was working well. But since then (Monday) it has been off. Having to use extensions cords to other power points that are working.
The worst is the hot water service as I have to go outside and then put the lead through a window.
Damn, dishes will have to wait till tomorrow, :) as it is raining very heavy and don't fancy having an extension lead lying in the water.
