Saturday.

Today, apart from ferrying Rohan around, and all the other things going on, including discipline problems with Jayden, I started on dinner for Monday night which is Ethan's 4th birthday.

Hopfully everyone will make it, not like Jayden's birthday. This is pasta il forno. Or pasta in the oven. My ex brother-in-law is Italian, and my sister has passed on some of his recipes. My family are all very fussy eaters and this is one dish that the all like that I can prepare ahead of time, as I am going to see a movie on Monday for a friend's birthday. We are going to see The Lovely Bones.

Oh, your pasta seems SO delicious! Yummy! We're about to do some lasagne tomorrow. Looks a bit same. =oD

Can I ask for the recipe of this dish? I'm so sure it would be a huge success in our household, too!

Of course you can. I make the sauce with minced meat, tomato paste, onion, oregano and some mixed herbs too. Some soy sauce adds a bit of flavour. Little bit of salt and pepper. Add water and cook for maybe two hours to reduce the fluid.

Cook the pasta (egg noodles). Layers of pasta, sections of hard boiled egg, bacon or ham, cheese and meat. I use some cheese, mozzarella, and parmesan. Then cook in the oven till hot through. Usually about 35 mins.

For what I cooked which as you see made three dishes I used a kilo of minced steak. The original recipe my brother-in-law used, it was equal parts of minced veal and pork.

Thousand thanks for the recipe! Now I really got hungry. =oP It's soon lunch time here.

Love the thought of putting some mozzarella into the food, too. I now remember we sometimes (years back) were wondering if we could try to put some mozzarella in our lasagne, but there seems to be enough stuff already without it, so we gave the idea up.

Wishing you a great movie evening! And be well!
